Job Description

GSL Education is currently recruiting on behalf of a specialist SEN school in Redditch for dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Workers to support pupils with profound and complex learning and medical needs. This is a full-time, term-time-only position supporting children and young people with a range of additional needs, including Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), complex medical conditions, epilepsy, autism, physical disabilities, and sensory impairments.

Job Responsibility

  • Support pupils with profound and complex learning and medical needs
  • Work closely with teaching staff and healthcare professionals to provide high-quality support both in and out of the classroom
  • Play a vital role in helping pupils access learning opportunities while ensuring their medical, physical, and personal care needs are met

Requirements

  • Experience supporting individuals with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)
  • Complex medical needs
  • Epilepsy and seizure management
  • PEG feeding
  • Personal care requirements
  • Physical disabilities and mobility needs
  • Autism and communication difficulties
  • Sensory impairments
  • Previous experience working within SEN education, healthcare, residential care, or support work settings
  • A caring, patient, and proactive approach
  • Experience supporting children or adults with complex needs
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • A DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
