Sen Teacher

• Adaptive Curriculum Delivery: Design and implement a bespoke, sensory-rich curriculum that prioritises functional life skills alongside academic progress
• Communication Advocacy: Foster a 'Total Communication' environment, integrating Makaton, PECS, and visual schedules into every aspect of the school day
• Co-Regulation & Support: Utilise Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies to maintain a calm, low-arousal environment where students feel safe to explore and learn
• EHCP Management: Take ownership of tracking and reporting small-step progress toward Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) targets, collaborating closely with families and external specialists
• Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a dedicated team of Teaching Assistants, ensuring high-quality, 1:1 support is consistently delivered
• Holistic Development: Work alongside Speech and Language Therapists (SaLT) and Occupational Therapists to ensure a 360-degree approach to student wellbeing

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (mandatory)
• Specialist Knowledge: Familiarity with frameworks such as Attention Autism (Bucket Time), TEACCH, or Sensory Stories is highly desirable

• Compliance: An enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service (or a willingness to process one through Randstad)
