Job Description

SEN Teacher Vacancy - Salary: £34,398 - £48,913 per year (M1 - UPS1 Fringe) Plus a £5,000 Welcome Bonus for Qualified Teachers. The Opportunity Are you a passionate educator who believes that connection is the key to learning? We are looking for a dedicated Nurture Teacher to join our brand-new SEND Secondary School in Surrey. This is more than just a teaching job; it is a chance to be a founding member of a community built on empathy, patience, and the belief that every young person deserves to be understood. Opened in September 2025, our school supports students aged 11-16 with social communication, emotional regulation, and sensory processing needs. By joining us at the start of our journey, you will help shape a culture where small wins are celebrated as major milestones. Your Role and Impact As a Nurture Teacher, your primary focus is to create a safe, predictable, and stimulating environment for students who may find traditional schooling overwhelming. You will deliver a high-quality, personalised curriculum that balances academic progress with emotional well-being. You will work as part of a vibrant multi-disciplinary team, collaborating with specialists to ensure our students receive holistic support. Your day-to-day will involve crafting creative lesson plans, setting meaningful personal targets, and maintaining a non-confrontational, supportive atmosphere. Because we are a growing school, you'll also have the chance to "lend a hand" and diversify your skills as we evolve together. Schedule and Location This is a permanent, full-time role (40 hours per week). Start: 8:15am daily, Finish: 4:45pm (Mon/Wed/Thu), 5:00pm (Tue), and a 4:00pm finish on Fridays to kickstart your weekend. Location: Based at our main site in Surrey, with occasional travel to our satellite site in Caterham. Who You Are We are looking for someone who sees the person before the diagnosis. You should hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have a genuine heart for working within special education, particularly with Autism (ASC) and SEMH needs. You should be an expert at "thinking on your feet" to differentiate lessons for diverse learners and have a solid grasp of the national curriculum. If you have additional SEND qualifications or experience in curriculum development, that's a huge plus-but your ability to remain calm, reflective, and resilient in the face of challenging behaviours is what will truly make you successful here. How to Apply If you are ready to make a lasting difference in the lives of young people, we want to hear from you. Contact: Paul Hirchfield Phone: 01293 527416 Email: paul.hirchfield@randstad.co.uk
