We are seeking a dedicated Nurture Teacher to join our brand-new, specialist SEND secondary school during an exciting phase of growth. Having opened its doors in September 2025, our school provides a sanctuary for young people (ages 11-16) who require specialised support with social communication, emotional regulation, and sensory processing, typically associated with Autism. As a Nurture Teacher, you won't just deliver a curriculum; you will create a bridge to learning for students who have previously struggled in mainstream settings. You will work within a therapeutic, multi-disciplinary framework to ensure students feel safe, understood, and challenged.
Job Responsibility
Tailored Delivery: Adapt the National Curriculum to meet the unique sensory and emotional profiles of your students
Collaborative Practice: Work alongside an expert team of therapists and support staff to provide a 360-degree approach to student development
Target Setting: Monitor and review personalised targets (EHCPs) that focus on both academic success and emotional resilience
Environment Management: Maintain a calm, non-confrontational classroom atmosphere, utilising positive behaviour support strategies
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
Proven experience working within a SEND or specialist setting (specifically with ASC/SEMH)
A non-confrontational mindset and a deep understanding of how Autism impacts learning and behaviour
The flexibility to work at our main site in Chaldon and our satellite site in Caterham when required
