We are seeking a highly skilled Qualified SEN Teacher for a September start at a well regarded SEN School in Cambridge. This role is designed for a practitioner who excels in high-support settings, specifically working with pupils who have Autism (ASC), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and complex communication needs. In this environment, you aren't just a teacher; you are an architect of independence and a champion for every child's unique way of learning.
Job Responsibility:
Curriculum Innovation: Design and implement a bespoke, sensory-integrated curriculum
Communication Leadership: Embed a "Total Communication" culture within your classroom
Individualised Progress Mapping: Take ownership of student assessments
Positive Behaviour Support (PBS): Create and maintain a low-arousal, highly structured learning environment
Team Management: Lead and mentor a dedicated team of Teaching Assistants
Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Partner with parents, Speech and Language Therapists (SaLT), and Occupational Therapists
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Deep understanding of evidence-based frameworks such as TEACCH, Attention Autism (Bucket Time), or Sensory Stories
Resilient leadership
Advocacy and compassion
An enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service (or a willingness to process one via Randstad)
