Job Description:

Randstad Education is seeking a dedicated and experienced Teacher with a Specialism in Special Educational Needs (SEN) for a full-time, long-term role in Knowsley. If you are passionate about empowering students with diverse learning needs and fostering their literacy skills, we want to hear from you.

Job Responsibility:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons that are meticulously differentiated to meet the individual learning needs (IEP targets) of SEN students, covering reading, writing, and spoken language
  • Assess student literacy and language progress using both formal and informal methods, utilising data to refine instructional pathways and resources
  • Adapt and simplify complex texts and materials to ensure full curriculum access for all students, making the subject engaging and relevant
  • Collaborate effectively with teaching assistants, parents, and specialist professionals to ensure consistent and comprehensive student support
  • Establish a positive, inspiring, and well-regulated classroom culture, effectively managing behaviour to enable focused and productive learning for all

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is mandatory
  • Significant, proven experience teaching the curriculum to students with a variety of SEN in UK schools
  • A clear, up-to-date Enhanced DBS certificate or willingness to obtain one
  • Strong, practical knowledge of effective SEN strategies, including literacy intervention and communication aids
  • Exceptional patience, innovation, robust behaviour management skills, and strong classroom leadership
