Job Responsibility:
Develop and execute compelling instruction that is carefully differentiated to meet the specific Individualised Education Programme (IEP) goals of SEN pupils, focusing on literacy (reading, writing) and verbal output
Evaluate student mastery of language and literacy using a blend of structured testing and continuous observation, using performance data to continuously refine teaching strategies and supporting resources
Modify and simplify complex curriculum texts and materials to ensure complete, equitable access to the curriculum for all learners, maintaining subject engagement and relevance
Liaise proactively and effectively with support assistants, parents/guardians, and external specialist practitioners to guarantee unified and comprehensive student provision
Cultivate a positive, encouraging, and highly organised learning environment, employing expert behaviour guidance techniques to ensure focused and successful study for every student
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is mandatory
Significant, confirmed experience delivering the curriculum to children across various SEN categories within schools across the UK
Possession of a current Enhanced DBS certificate or the willingness to complete the registration process without delay
Deep, functional expertise in highly effective SEN intervention methods, including literacy support techniques and assistive communication tools
Exceptional perseverance, resourcefulness, authoritative classroom management, and strong leadership qualities within the teaching setting
