SEN Teacher (Primary) - Contract & Permanent Roles. Location: Worthing, West Sussex. Salary: £30,000 - £46,000 (MPS/UPS + SEN Allowance). Contract Type: Full-Time (Permanent and Long-Term Contract options available). The Opportunity: Are you a specialist educator with a passion for unlocking the potential of children with complex needs? Randstad Education is seeking a dedicated SEN Teacher to join a forward-thinking specialist primary setting in Worthing. This school supports pupils with a range of needs, including Autism (ASD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and Speech, Language, and Communication Needs (SLCN). Job Responsibility

  • Bespoke Curriculum Delivery: Adapt the National Curriculum to meet the sensory and cognitive needs of your pupils
  • EHCP Leadership: Work at the center of a multi-disciplinary team to implement and track Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) targets
  • Communication Specialist: Utilise PECS, Makaton, or Signalong to provide a voice for non-verbal or pre-verbal learners
  • Nurturing Environment: Create a low-arousal classroom that promotes emotional regulation and reduces anxiety
  • Supervision: Lead a team of dedicated Teaching Assistants to provide high-quality 1:1 and small group intervention

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Essential
  • Proven experience teaching children with ASD, SLD, or complex needs (Special school or Mainstream SRP experience)
  • Adaptability: A teacher who can pivot their lesson plan in the moment to follow a child's interest or sensory requirements
  • Resilience: A calm, grounded approach to managing challenging behaviors and emotional outbursts
