Job Description
Permanent SEN Teacher - Specialist SEMH SchoolHistory & Geography (SEND Specialist). A Rare Opportunity: Are you an experienced SEN practitioner ready to leave your mark on a brand-new provision? In September 2025, we launched a state-of-the-art secondary school in Chaldon, specifically designed for students (ages 11-16) with social communication, emotional regulation, and sensory processing needs. We are seeking a high-calibre History & Geography Teacher who understands that for neurodivergent learners, the humanities are not just subjects-they are windows into understanding the world and their place within it. The Role: Impact & Innovation: As a founding member of our academic team, you won't just be following a scheme of work; you will be instrumental in adapting the National Curriculum to meet the complex profiles of our students. Why Join Us? We offer more than just a competitive salary. This is a chance to move away from the constraints of large-scale mainstream settings and join a model defined by small classes, high staff-to-student ratios, and clinical support. 'We give students every opportunity to achieve. We need teachers who believe that no ceiling should be placed on a child's potential.' Step into a role where your experience is valued and your autonomy is respected.

Requirements
Proven SEN Expertise: Extensive experience working with students with Autism, PDA profiles, or complex SEMH needs
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS)
A Therapeutic Mindset: The ability to maintain pace and motivation in the classroom while remaining flexible to the fluctuating sensory needs of your students
Founding Spirit: The resilience and 'can-do' attitude required to launch a new school and establish a positive, inclusive culture from day one
