Are you a resilient and creative Secondary Teacher looking to transition into a specialist setting? Randstad Education is seeking an SEN Teacher for a dedicated secondary provision in Horley. This school caters to students aged 11-16 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Complex Learning Barriers. This is a role for a teacher who excels at building rapport with "hard-to-reach" teenagers and who believes that every student, regardless of their past educational trauma, deserves a fresh start and a pathway to independence.

Job Responsibility

  • Curriculum Adaptation: Deliver a modified KS3/KS4 curriculum that balances core academics with life skills and emotional literacy
  • Vocational Guidance: Prepare students for post-16 transitions, focusing on functional skills and entry-level qualifications
  • Behavioural Mentorship: Utilize trauma-informed practices to de-escalate crisis moments and teach students how to self-regulate
  • EHCP Management: Lead the implementation of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), ensuring learning targets are both ambitious and achievable
  • Multi-Agency Collaboration: Work alongside therapists, social workers, and parents to provide a holistic 360-degree support system for each student
