Specialist SEN Support Professional Needed Now! Role: Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant. A highly regarded, well-established SEN educational institution in Liverpool is urgently seeking an A-tier SEN Support Practitioner to join their dedicated team immediately. This opportunity is a secure, full-time, and extended-duration contract for professionals ready to provide critical, customised assistance to students requiring focused, specialised attention.

Job Responsibility:

  • Direct Instruction: Implement structured 1:1 and small-group support sessions for primary pupils who have either Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) or other identified complex learning requirements
  • Accessibility: Adapt and modify classroom materials and the learning environment to guarantee full inclusion and accessibility, continually encouraging student independence
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate closely with the SEN Coordinator (SENCO) and teachers to meticulously track student progress, draft necessary reports for statutory reviews, and help establish future learning objectives
  • Pastoral Role: Deliver consistent emotional stability and reassurance, serving as a consistent, positive figure to help students navigate their school lives successfully

Requirements:

  • A minimum of six months of verifiable, professional experience within a UK school setting, supporting children with various Special Educational Needs (e.g., Autism Spectrum Disorder, Moderate Learning Difficulties)
  • Demonstrable patience, resilience, and outstanding empathy, coupled with proven expertise in managing challenging behaviour and effective de-escalation strategies
  • An excellent capability to maintain clear, professional, and productive communication with pupils, guardians, and colleagues
  • An absolute full-time commitment and availability for the entire long-term period of the assignment
  • Possession of a current Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service, or the immediate willingness to submit a new application
