Specialist Science Teacher for SEN- Knowsley. Randstad Education is working with a school in Knowsley that is committed to helping students with special educational needs reach their full potential. We are seeking a full-time, long-term SEN Science Teacher to start in September. This role requires you to teach science to students with diverse and complex needs, including those with Autism and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD).
Job Responsibility:
Adapting the curriculum to meet the unique needs and learning styles of each student
Creating engaging and accessible lessons using hands-on experiments and visual aids to foster a love for STEM
Integrating targets from student's Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) into daily teaching
Providing both academic and emotional support to help students build confidence and thrive
Collaborating effectively with colleagues, support staff, and parents to ensure a cohesive learning environment
Maintaining thorough records of student progress
Contributing to the ongoing development of the school's science department
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Relevant science degree
Right to work in the UK
Valid Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply)
Proven skills in classroom and behaviour management
Genuine passion for inclusive education
Exceptional communication and teamwork skills
Adaptability and resilience to support students with individual needs
At least 6 months of experience teaching SEN students in UK schools
