Job Description:

We are currently seeking a dedicated and supportive Pupil Support Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Crawley. You will support students with a range of additional needs in a structured and nurturing classroom environment, helping them to access learning and build confidence.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide classroom support across lessons and the wider school environment
  • Deliver 1:1 and small group support
  • Encourage engagement and positive learning behaviours
  • Work closely with teaching staff to follow support plans
  • Support behaviour in a calm and consistent manner
  • Promote wellbeing, confidence, and social development
  • Follow safeguarding procedures at all times

Requirements:

  • Experience with SEN or willingness to learn
  • A calm, patient and supportive approach
  • Strong communication skills
  • Understanding of supporting additional needs
  • A reliable and proactive attitude
  • A genuine passion for working with young people
  • Must have the right to work in the UK or hold a valid work visa
  • Provide suitable references for pre-employment checks
  • Hold (or be willing to obtain) an enhanced DBS on the update service
