We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and experienced SEN Tutor to provide tailored educational support to primary-aged children in Biggleswade. You will work one-on-one with students-primarily those on the autism spectrum-to help them bridge learning gaps, build confidence, and engage with the curriculum in a way that suits their individual needs.
Job Responsibility:
Deliver personalised lessons in Core Subjects (English & Maths) at a Primary level
Adapt teaching methods to accommodate sensory processing needs and communication styles associated with autism
Foster a safe, low-anxiety learning environment that encourages curiosity and growth
Monitor progress and adjust learning plans to meet specific EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) goals
Requirements:
Proven track record of working with primary-aged children and a deep understanding of autism (ASC)
QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) is preferred, but experienced SEN Teaching Assistants or specialised tutors are encouraged to apply
Strong behaviour management strategies, patience, and the ability to use visual aids or alternative communication tools where necessary
Based in or able to travel to Biggleswade
An enhanced DBS check (on the update service) is essential or willingness to have one completed
