A fantastic specialist SEMH school set in the beautiful West Sussex countryside is looking for a full‑time SEN Primary Age Cover Teacher to join their team as soon as possible. This is a superb opportunity to make a real impact working with pupils who need stability, consistency, and a teacher who can bring calm, creativity and structure to the classroom. There will be a handover period before Easter, with the expectation of taking on the class independently from after the Easter break.
Job Responsibility:
Teach primary‑aged pupils (mainly Years 5 & 6, with flexibility to support Years 1–4 when needed)
Deliver well‑structured, differentiated lessons tailored to SEMH and SEND needs
Build strong, trusting relationships that promote emotional regulation and engagement
Work collaboratively with the school’s therapeutic and pastoral teams
Support pupils with behaviour, communication and self-esteem in a nurturing environment
Take responsibility for planning and preparation, with support during handover
Requirements:
Hold a paper copy of your Enhanced DBS (or be able to bring it on your first day)
Be fully available Monday–Friday, approx. 8am–4pm
Have previous Primary SEND/SEMH experience—particularly with Year 5 & 6 pupils
Be confident planning, preparing and adapting lessons for diverse needs
Drive and own a car (public transport is not suitable due to the remote location)
Live near Brantridge, or be happy with the commute/fuel costs
Be resilient, patient and confident in a specialist school environment
