Nurture Teacher | Specialist Secondary SEN School Location: Near Caterham / Chaldon area (Surrey) Salary: Paid to Scale (MPS/UPS + SEN Allowance) Contract: Permanent, Full-Time Start Date: Immediate / ASAP Are you a passionate educator who believes that every child deserves a bespoke approach to learning? We are seeking a resilient, empathetic, and creative Nurture Teacher to join our dedicated team at a specialist secondary school. The School Environment This is a specialist setting catering to secondary-aged students with Autism (ASC) and associated challenging behaviours. We pride ourselves on providing a calm, therapeutic, and nurturing environment where students who have previously struggled in mainstream settings can finally thrive. As a Nurture Teacher, you won't just be delivering a curriculum; you will be building the emotional foundations that allow these young people to engage with the world.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead a small nurture group: Delivering a primary-model curriculum adapted for secondary learners
  • Holistic Development: Focus on social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) alongside academic progress
  • Behaviour Support: Implement positive behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques
  • Collaborative Working: Partner with on-site therapists and support staff to create individualised learning plans
