Compass Associates are proud to be working with a valued client to support them with the opening of their new independent special school for pupils with neurodiverse needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition needs, aged 5 - 16 years. We're looking for an eager and energetic SEN Mathematics teacher to join us! This role is an exciting opportunity for a qualified teacher with a specialism in Science and teaching KS3, ideally with experience in a specialist or SEN school setting. The school prioritises a holistic, child-centred model where education and therapy go hand in hand to support each pupil’s development and well-being. An approachable, patient and passionate individual is required, with a genuine desire to make a positive impact in the lives of young learners. You will be confident adapting lessons to meet a range of learning needs and creating a supportive, structured classroom environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • A desire to support young people in an educational setting to achieve qualifications and fulfil their potential
  • Can bring energy and humour to the classroom and staff
  • Strong classroom management and behaviour support skills
  • Can work effectively with Teaching Assistants and Therapists

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Strong subject knowledge / Specialism in Mathematics
  • Experience teaching young people with autism
  • Ability to deliver differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs
  • Knowledge of EHCPs and outcomes-based learning

Nice to have:

  • Engage in CPD and additional SEND training
  • Experience contributing to curriculum development
