Job Description:

Impactful SEN Learning Support Specialist Role - Wirral. Randstad Education is actively seeking a highly skilled, resourceful, and dedicated Learning Support Specialist focused on Special Educational Needs (SEN). This is a full-time, long-term opportunity with a requirement for an immediate start at a fantastic school located in the Wirral. We are looking for a passionate professional who can effectively guide and motivate students facing a variety of complex learning barriers. Join our team and be the catalyst for positive change in young people's educational careers.

Job Responsibility:

  • Bespoke Student Support: Deliver targeted one-on-one and small-group academic and emotional support tailored to students with diverse SEN needs
  • Curriculum Implementation: Work closely with teaching colleagues to translate educational plans into practice and integrate flexible, differentiated teaching methods
  • Behavioural Environment: Assist in the establishment and maintenance of a secure, organised, and positive behavioural management system within the classroom
  • Data and Progress Tracking: Diligently monitor, evaluate, and document student achievements, conduct, and learning milestones against predetermined objectives
  • Holistic Mentor-ship: Act as an approachable role model , developing strong rapport to enhance student's self-esteem, social competencies, and overall well-being

Requirements:

  • A minimum of six months proven experience providing in-class support, specifically with SEN students, within a UK school setting is non-negotiable
  • Must possess a naturally calm, adaptive, and highly proactive disposition when supporting varied educational requirements
  • Demonstrate exceptional interpersonal and written communication skills, reliable team collaboration, and strong organisational capacity
  • Must hold a current, satisfactory Enhanced DBS check, or be willing to apply for one without delay upon confirmation of the role

Nice to have:

Any background using specific therapeutic or intervention approaches (e.g., supporting MLD or Speech/Language difficulties) is highly advantageous
