Job Description

We are seeking a caring and committed Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Burgess Hill. Conveniently located right by a train station, this role is ideal for a patient and supportive individual with experience or interest in supporting students with additional needs in a structured and nurturing environment. The role may include some personal care.

Job Responsibility

  • Supporting students with SEN in the classroom and around the school
  • Providing consistent, individualised support to promote learning and independence
  • Assisting with personal care where required
  • Working closely with teaching and support staff to implement support strategies
  • Promoting positive behaviour, wellbeing, and engagement
  • Following safeguarding procedures at all times

Requirements

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN (desirable)
  • A calm, patient, and compassionate approach
  • Confidence discussing safeguarding and child wellbeing
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Hold, or be willing to obtain, an enhanced DBS
