We are seeking an exceptional SEN Food Technology Teacher to join our supportive and dynamic team, a thriving special needs school renowned for its inclusive environment and student-centred approach. As a Food Technology Teacher, you will play a crucial role in planning, delivering, and assessing highly engaging and differentiated food technology lessons tailored to the individual needs of our students. You will be instrumental in fostering their academic, social, emotional, and behavioural development, empowering them to become confident and independent learners, particularly within the practical and theoretical aspects of food technology.

Job Responsibility:

  • Plan and deliver creative, personalised food technology lessons across the curriculum that meet the diverse learning styles and needs of students with SEN
  • Adapt teaching materials and utilise specialist equipment and facilities to enhance food technology learning outcomes
  • Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) or Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), meticulously tracking and reporting on student progress
  • Implement effective behaviour management strategies to create a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment
  • Collaborate closely with teaching assistants, support staff, parents, carers, and a range of external professionals (e.g., therapists, educational psychologists, social workers) to ensure holistic support for each student
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and interventions
