Job Description

Justteachers is seeking a passionate and adaptable English Teacher to join a specialist SEN school in Coventry. This full-time, long-term role begins in September 2026 and has the potential to continue for the full academic year. The school caters to pupils aged 4–16 with a variety of special educational needs, including autism (ASD), moderate learning difficulties (MLD), speech and language needs, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges. The team is committed to fostering a supportive, inclusive environment where every child can thrive through personalised learning and a nurturing, child-centred approach.

Job Responsibility

Create a calm, structured, and supportive classroom environment that promotes confidence and independence
Collaborate closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and SEN professionals to provide holistic support
Use a range of strategies to support communication, literacy development, sensory needs, and emotional regulation
Track pupil progress and adjust teaching approaches to ensure consistent progress

Requirements

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), ideally with experience teaching English at primary or lower secondary level
Previous experience supporting children with SEN, particularly in specialist or alternative provision settings
Strong understanding of adaptive teaching, communication strategies, and positive behaviour support
Empathetic, patient, and creative in your approach to teaching and learning
