Job Responsibility

Work 1:1 or in small groups to make learning accessible, using sensory play, visual timetables, and personalised communication tools
Follow and implement EHCP goals, adapting classroom activities to meet the specific sensory and cognitive needs of the student
Utilise alternative communication methods such as PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System), Makaton, or AAC devices to give every child a voice
Act as a 'calm consistent' presence, recognising early signs of distress and using sensory breaks or de-escalation strategies to support the student's wellbeing
Work closely with the Class Teacher, SENCO, and external therapists to ensure a holistic approach to the child's development and safety
