Job Description

Transform young lives and shape futures - become a vital part of a alternative provision team today. Are you looking for a rewarding Teaching Assistant role in Worthing? If you have experience in care, youth work, SEN, SEND, SEMH, autism, ADHD, or managing behavioural needs, this is an exceptional opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of vulnerable children and young people. This specialist alternative provision centre in Worthing provides a caring, positive, and inclusive environment for primary and secondary-aged pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The setting focuses on helping students re-engage with education through a highly personalised curriculum designed to challenge, inspire, and rebuild self-esteem. By maintaining small class sizes and prioritizing emotional well-being, the collaborative staff team works together to help young people build resilience, gain qualifications, and work toward positive futures. Following a successful 12-week temporary placement, you will transfer directly onto the permanent staff team.

  • Skills: Strong communication, teamwork skills, and the ability to manage challenging behaviour positively
  • Compliance: A strict commitment to safeguarding, pupil well-being, and promoting a safe learning environment

  • Fulfillment: A genuinely rewarding role where your work directly reduces barriers to education and creates positive outcomes for vulnerable young people
