Job Description:

SEN Teaching Assistant - Crawley Location: Crawley | Type: Full-Time | Schedule: Term-Time Only Are you passionate about turning 'disability' into 'possibility'? At Randstad Education, we believe that every child deserves a champion-someone who understands that 'special needs' simply means finding a different way to succeed. We are currently recruiting for a welcoming and inclusive school in Crawley looking for a confident, committed, and empathetic SEN Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated support team. If you are a firm believer that behavior is communication and you have the patience to find the 'root cause' behind the challenge, this is the role for you. The Role: Impacting Lives Daily Your day-to-day will involve more than just supervision; it's about building the bridges that allow children with complex needs to cross into successful learning. 1:1 & Small Group Support: Tailoring your approach to meet the specific sensory and academic needs of pupils. Diverse Needs Specialist: Supporting children with ASC (Autism), ADHD, SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health), and Speech & Language requirements. EHCP Implementation: Bringing Education, Health and Care Plans to life by turning formal targets into creative, achievable classroom wins. Co-Regulation & Support: Assisting with behavior management by staying calm in the storm and helping children return to a 'ready to learn' state. Collaborative Practice: Working as the 'right hand' to the Class Teacher and SENCo to ensure a seamless, safe, and tidy learning environment. Who We Are Looking For: We need a practitioner who doesn't just 'manage' a classroom, but nurtures the individuals within it. ✔ Proven SEN Experience: Essential school-based experience supporting neurodivergent learners. ✔ The 'Investigative' Mindset: A strong understanding of autism and the ability to recognize triggers before they escalate. ✔ Proactive Patience: A calm, steady presence-someone who uses a 'firm but gentle' voice and avoids the need for shouting. ✔ Communication Tools: Experience with Makaton, PECS, or visual timetables is a massive advantage. ✔ DBS: An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one). Why Join the Randstad Crawley Team? Supportive Community: Join a school environment that values its staff as much as its students. Growth Opportunities: Potential for long-term placements and ongoing professional development. Competitive Pay: Enjoy daily rates that reflect your specialized skills and experience. Dedicated Consultant: You'll have a specialist consultant to support you throughout your placement journey. Ready to Make a Difference? If you're an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant who believes that every child can achieve when they find the right way for them, we want to hear from you. Apply today with your CV, and Arshad will be in touch as soon as possible to discuss your next career move!
