Job Description:

A forward-thinking accountancy practice just outside Ware is looking to welcome a motivated Semi-Senior Accountant to their close-knit team. This firm prides itself on providing an approachable, high-quality service to a loyal portfolio of local businesses. Job Responsibility:

Prepare year-end accounts for a variety of clients, including sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
Compile working papers and ensure all supporting documentation is accurate and complete
Assist clients with day-to-day queries relating to accounts and tax matters
Prepare and submit VAT returns, as well as review bookkeeping records
Support the preparation of management accounts when required
Help clients make the switch to digital accounting software and remain compliant with MTD regulations
Offer occasional assistance with payroll processing tasks

Requirements:

Experience working within an accountancy practice environment
AAT qualified or part-qualified ACA/ACCA (or equivalent)
Confident in preparing accounts and VAT returns, with solid bookkeeping knowledge
Familiar with cloud-based accounting systems such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, or IRIS
Organised, proactive and able to manage your own workload effectively
A strong communicator who enjoys being part of a team
