Semi-Senior Accountant

• Assist with the preparation of monthly accounts, payroll, and VAT returns for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
• Support the preparation of management accounts and other ad hoc reports as required by clients
• Assist with bookkeeping and client financial record keeping, increasingly through cloud-based software
• Provide administrative support and help ensure the smooth running of client workflows
• Visit clients on-site as required
• With training, assist in preparing year-end working papers and accounts from client records
• Contribute to providing excellent client service and timely completion of work

• Experience in an accountancy practice environment
• AAT Level 4 qualified or near completion (ACCA/CIMA part-qualified also welcome)
• Competent using accounting packages such as Sage, QuickBooks, or Xero
• Strong Microsoft Excel and Google Suite skills
• Strong academic background (minimum B grade or equivalent in Maths and English)
• Organised, proactive, and eager to grow in a client-facing accounting role

An interest or background in the agricultural/rural or sustainability sector is desirable but not essential
