Job Description:

We are seeking a compassionate and resilient Teaching Assistant to join an Alternative Provision school in Washington, West Sussex. This is a unique environment that combines animal-assisted and outdoor learning to help pupils re-engage with education and develop key life skills.

Job Responsibility:

Work closely with students who have a range of social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, supporting their academic, social and emotional development
Provide one-to-one and small group support
Assist in delivering engaging lessons
Help create a positive, nurturing environment where every child can thrive

Requirements:

Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH or SEND needs (or willingness to learn)
Comfortable working around animals and engaging in outdoor, practical learning
A patient, empathetic and adaptable approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Commitment to promoting emotional wellbeing and inclusion
