Job Description:

Justteachers is looking for a SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in Stockport to provide tailored support for students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, offering an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on a child’s educational journey. This full-time, long-term position is available to start in January.

Job Responsibility:

Provide inclusive support to meet the needs of students with various learning difficulties, including cognition and learning, social emotional and mental health, sensory and physical challenges, ASC, ADHD, and other complex needs
Collaborate effectively with teachers and fellow staff members to ensure the best possible learning environment
Build strong relationships with students, understanding their individual needs and motivations
Support the ethos of the school and contribute to its inclusive and supportive atmosphere

Requirements:

Experience working with adults or children with complex or SEN needs within the last two years, preferably in a care home, residential care setting, SEMH school, or PRU
Dedication to the development and learning of students with SEMH, with a desire to make a positive impact
Strong communication and teamwork skills, essential for working effectively within a professional environment
Ability to establish rapport with students and demonstrate empathy towards their challenges and behaviours
