Job Description:

SEMH Teaching Assistant position supporting young children with special educational needs in a nurturing and inclusive SEMH environment at a well-regarded SEMH School in South East London.

Job Responsibility:

Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with additional learning needs
Assisting with EHCP targets and adapting activities to suit individual needs
Supporting class teachers in managing behaviour and promoting engagement
Helping to create a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
Liaising with SEMHCOs, parents, and external professionals when needed

Requirements:

Experience working with children with special educational needs in a school or similar setting
Patient, empathetic, and calm under pressure
Proactive, enthusiastic, and able to build strong relationships with young children
Able to follow support plans and use your initiative
A genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs
