We are seeking a dedicated, resilient, and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEMH secondary school in Maidstone on a full-time basis, starting immediately. This role is ideal for someone with a strong interest in supporting young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs, who can build positive relationships and support pupils to engage successfully with learning.
Job Responsibility:
Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
Assisting with emotional regulation and behaviour management
Supporting pupils to access learning and complete tasks
Promoting positive behaviour and coping strategies
Assisting the class teacher with lesson delivery and classroom support
Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils
Implementing behaviour support and support plans
Providing feedback to teachers and pastoral staff
Requirements:
Experience working with SEMH, SEN, or challenging behaviour (desirable)
Calm, patient, and resilient approach
Strong behaviour management skills
Able to work effectively with individuals and small groups
Passionate about supporting vulnerable young people
Reliable and available to start immediately
