We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEMH setting in Littlehampton, supporting students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This role involves working in a structured, nurturing, and supportive environment to help students access learning and develop both academically and emotionally.
Job Responsibility:
Support students in the classroom and around the school
Provide consistent 1:1 and small group support
Promote engagement, independence, and learning
Work closely with teaching staff to implement strategies and interventions
Support behaviour management in a calm and consistent manner
Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and social development
Follow all safeguarding procedures
Requirements:
Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH or challenging behaviours (or willingness to learn)
A patient, calm, and resilient approach
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Understanding of behaviour support strategies
A proactive and reliable attitude
A genuine passion for supporting students with additional needs
