Job Description:

SEMH Teaching Assistant – Daily supply across Tameside and surrounding areas, starting as soon as possible. These flexible opportunities are ideal for teaching assistants who enjoy variety and want to make a positive impact across different secondary school settings.

Job Responsibility:

Support students with social, emotional and mental health needs in mainstream classrooms
Assist with personalised learning plans and behaviour strategies
Promote inclusion and encourage independence in learning
Work closely with teachers and SENCOs to monitor progress and adapt support
Help manage behaviour and create a calm, safe learning environment
Uphold safeguarding responsibilities and school policies

Requirements:

Experience supporting students with SEMH needs in secondary schools
Understanding of a range of emotional and behavioural challenges
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
Patience, resilience and a proactive approach to learning support
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
