Job Responsibility

  • Provide consistent 1:1 support to a Y3 pupil with SEMH needs, helping them regulate emotions and engage positively with learning
  • Implement personalised strategies and interventions under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO
  • Build strong, trusting relationships to promote confidence, independence, and emotional wellbeing
  • Support behaviour plans and use de-escalation strategies when required
  • Work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external professionals
  • Contribute to a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment

Requirements

  • Experience supporting children with SEMH needs (school or alternative provision experience welcomed)
  • Calm, patient, and emotionally intelligent
  • Able to build rapport quickly and maintain clear boundaries
  • Confident using positive behaviour support strategies
  • Passionate about helping children succeed, even when progress is not linear
  • Team-focused, reflective, and eager to learn
