Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated SEMH Teacher to support pupils across KS2 within a forward‑thinking specialist SEMH school in Timperley. Join a highly committed team in a nurturing environment that supports children aged 4–16 with a range of social, emotional and mental health needs. Your role will focus on creating a safe, inclusive, and empowering learning space where every pupil feels understood, supported, and able to thrive. This is a long‑term position with an immediate start, giving you the opportunity to make a meaningful impact from the very first day.

Job Responsibility

  • Deliver engaging, inclusive lessons that are carefully adapted to meet the diverse needs of pupils with a range of SEMH challenges
  • Work in close partnership with Teaching Assistants and wider staff to create a calm, consistent, and supportive learning environment that meets individual SEMH requirements
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, taking time to understand their emotional needs, triggers, and motivators
  • Champion the school’s ethos and contribute to a safe, nurturing, and inclusive atmosphere where every young person feels valued and supported

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Proven experience working with children in a school or similar educational environment
  • Strong background in supporting pupils with SEMH needs, as well as those with Autism and other additional learning or behavioural needs
  • Ability to remain calm, patient, and grounded when responding to challenging behaviours or emotionally heightened situations
  • A genuine commitment to promoting children’s emotional well‑being, learning progress, and overall development
