We are recruiting a dedicated SEMH Teacher to support pupils across Key Stages 3 and 4 within a progressive and forward‑thinking specialist SEMH school in Tameside. You will be part of a highly committed, supportive team working within a nurturing environment for children aged 4–16, each with a range of social, emotional and mental health needs. The role centres on fostering a safe, inclusive and empowering learning environment, where pupils feel valued, understood and supported to achieve personal and academic success. This is a long‑term position with an immediate start, offering the opportunity to make a meaningful and lasting impact from day one.
Job Responsibility:
Deliver high-quality teaching and targeted support to pupils with a range of social, emotional and mental health needs
Plan and deliver engaging, well-differentiated lessons informed by individual learning plans and EHCP outcomes
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists and the wider SEMH team to provide consistent, holistic support
Monitor and assess pupil progress, contribute to EHCP reviews, and maintain accurate, up-to-date records
Establish a safe, structured and inclusive classroom environment that promotes trust, emotional security and positive behaviour
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Previous experience working with children in a school or similar setting (essential)
Background in supporting students with SEND, including Autism, SEMH, and other additional needs
Ability to stay composed and patient when faced with challenging situations
Strong commitment to supporting children's learning and overall development
