We are seeking a dedicated and resilient SEMH Teacher to join our specialist SEN school in Tadworth, supporting pupils of primary and secondary age with social, emotional and mental health needs. This is a rewarding opportunity for a qualified teacher who is passionate about inclusive education and committed to helping young people overcome barriers to learning.
Job Responsibility:
Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons across primary and/or secondary phases
Support pupils with SEMH needs in both classroom and therapeutic settings
Create a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment
Implement positive behaviour strategies and individual support plans
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and senior leaders
Requirements:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential
Have experience working with SEMH and/or SEN pupils (mainstream or specialist settings)
Demonstrate strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
Be calm, patient, and adaptable in challenging situations
Be committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
Nice to have:
ability to track progression in attainment
background in youth work
de-escalation techniques
experience in administering medication
experience in managing challenging behaviour
experience with autism spectrum disorders
experience with learning difficulties
