Job Description

This specialist SEMH school in Stratford, Newham is seeking a dedicated and resilient SEMH Teacher to join their team on a full-time, temp-to-perm basis. The school supports students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs who require a therapeutic and nurturing approach to education. With small class sizes and a strong focus on relationship-building, the school is committed to helping every student overcome barriers to learning and achieve positive outcomes.

Job Responsibility

  • Deliver engaging lessons across a range of subjects to KS3 and KS4 students
  • Adapt teaching to meet individual learning, behavioural, and emotional needs
  • Build positive relationships that encourage engagement and attendance
  • Promote emotional regulation, confidence, and resilience
  • Work collaboratively with support staff, pastoral teams, and external agencies

Requirements

  • QTS
  • experience working with students who present with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour, or additional barriers to learning
  • experience within an SEMH school, PRU, Alternative Provision, or SEND setting would be highly advantageous
