Job Description:

Justteachers is looking for a SEMH Teacher to join a small SEMH setting in Oldham. You will be teaching vulnerable children who have a social, emotional and mental health needs, following a trauma-informed approach and offering an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on a child’s educational journey. This full-time, long-term position is available to start as soon as possible.

Job Responsibility:

Teach inclusive and engaging lessons to students with various learning difficulties, including cognition and learning, social emotional and mental health, sensory and physical challenges, ASC, ADHD, and other complex needs
Collaborate effectively with Teaching Assistants and fellow staff members to ensure the best possible learning environment
Build strong relationships with students, understanding their individual needs and motivations
Support the ethos of the school and contribute to its inclusive and supportive atmosphere

Requirements:

Experience working with adults or children with complex or SEN needs within the last two years, preferably in a care home, residential care setting, SEMH school, or PRU
Qualified Teaching Status
Strong communication and teamwork skills, essential for working effectively within a professional environment
Ability to establish rapport with students and demonstrate empathy towards their challenges and behaviours
