Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated SEMH Teacher to join a supportive and forward-thinking specialist provision in Worthing. This is an exciting opportunity to work with secondary-aged students who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and are working significantly below age-related academic expectations. The successful candidate will be committed to building positive relationships, raising aspirations, and helping students develop both academically and personally in a nurturing and structured environment.

Job Responsibility

  • Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of students across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Helping students develop confidence, resilience, independence, and the skills needed for future success

Requirements

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Has experience teaching secondary-aged students
  • Understands the challenges faced by pupils with SEMH needs
  • Can adapt learning to meet a wide range of abilities and learning profiles
  • Builds strong, trusting relationships with young people
  • Has excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Is patient, resilient, and committed to achieving positive outcomes for every student
  • Works effectively as part of a collaborative team
