We are currently recruiting SEMH Support Assistants to work within specialist school settings across Surrey, supporting children and young people with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. These roles focus on helping pupils overcome barriers to learning by providing consistent emotional, behavioural, and educational support throughout the school day.
Job Responsibility
Supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups
Helping young people regulate emotions and manage behaviour positively
Encouraging engagement, confidence, and routine
Working closely with teachers and pastoral teams
Providing a calm, consistent and supportive presence in school
Requirements
Patient, calm and emotionally resilient individuals
Strong communicators who can build positive relationships
People passionate about supporting young people's wellbeing
A supportive, caring or mentoring mindset
Must have the right to work in the UK or hold a valid work visa
Provide suitable references for pre-employment checks
Hold an enhanced DBS on the Children's Workforce (or Children's & Adults') update service, or be willing to obtain one
