Job Responsibility:
Full teaching responsibilities within a KS1 or KS2 SEMH class
Delivering a creative, adapted curriculum that meets individual needs
Building trusting, consistent relationships with pupils
Planning lessons that incorporate social‑emotional learning and academic progress
Working closely with behaviour specialists, TAs and therapists
Supporting pupils with emotional regulation, resilience and confidence
Creating a safe, predictable and nurturing classroom environment
Requirements:
Qualified primary teacher (ECT or experienced)
Interest in SEMH, behaviour, trauma‑informed practice or alternative provision
Patience, empathy and resilience
Calm, consistent and confident in de‑escalation
Ability to build strong relationships based on trust and respect
Passionate about helping children achieve both emotionally and academically
Belief in inclusive practice and the power of early intervention
Must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS check or Enhanced check for Regulated Activity with the Disclosure & Barring Services
