Job Description

A specialist setting in Ely is looking for a full-time SEMH Practitioner to start ASAP. The provision supports pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs, focusing on building resilience, improving behaviour, and re-engaging learners through structured, nurturing support.

Job Responsibility

  • Deliver targeted support for pupils with SEMH needs, both in and out of the classroom
  • Support learning by adapting tasks, encouraging engagement, and reinforcing positive behaviours
  • Use strategies to manage behaviour, support emotional regulation, and de-escalate challenging situations
  • Build positive relationships to help pupils feel secure, understood, and motivated to learn

Requirements

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH or behavioural needs
  • Knowledge of behaviour management techniques and emotional support strategies
  • Strong interpersonal skills and resilience in challenging environments
  • Relevant qualifications or experience in education, youth work, or care settings
