Job Description:

SEMH Learning Support Assistant – Farnborough. Some roles are about routine. This one is about impact. We’re working with a specialist school in Farnborough supporting pupils with SEMH and moderate learning needs, and they’re looking for a Learning Support Assistant who can bring consistency, patience, and a calm presence into the classroom. You’ll be supporting pupils who may have experienced challenges in mainstream education — your role is to help them re-engage, regulate, and succeed. This is a temp to perm opportunity where you can genuinely grow within the school.

Job Responsibility:

  • Supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups
  • Managing behaviour using a positive, structured approach
  • Building trust with pupils who need stability and support
  • Working closely with teachers and pastoral staff

Requirements:

  • Experience in SEMH, SEND, youth work or care
  • Someone calm, resilient and confident with behaviour
  • A team player who can commit to a long-term role

  • Coordinate pastoral and behaviour support under the guidance of the Behaviour Lead/IST Operations Lead
  • Lead Student Voice initiatives within the school
  • Support Risk Assessment (RA) and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) updates
  • Track and monitor social and emotional development across the student body
