Job Description:

A friendly and diverse Secondary School in Merton is searching for a SEMH Learning Support Assistant to join their friendly, supportive, and successful team. This role will begin in September, supporting pupils across KS3, KS4 and KS5 with students requiring additional support due to various SEND/SEMH needs. The ideal candidate would be Psychology graduates wanting to pursue a career in Education, Therapy, Psychological Research, Mental Health, Speech and Language, and more. You’ll be working alongside a dedicated inclusion team, teachers, and SLT as well as engaging with specialists regularly.

Job Responsibility:

Provide support to pupils with SEND and/or Social Inclusion needs
To work alongside a supportive, friendly, and determined inclusion staff
To facilitate the differentiation of tasks for students
To work with small groups or individual students on specific tasks
High quality and bespoke CPD to be provided

Requirements:

An outgoing graduate ready for the next stage of their career
Hardworking, committed, and excited to help all pupils flourish
Flexible, open minded and strong communication skills
Genuine passion for working in education
Experience or awareness of young people with possible barriers to learning
