Affinity Partnerships are working with a specialist school for boys aged 5-19 with social, emotional and behavioural needs (SEMH). We are seeking resilient, confident and positive SEMH Learning Support Assistants to join this dynamic school. You will support pupils who may struggle with emotional regulation, behaviour, and engagement. Training in Team Teach or Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) is desirable but not essential – the school will support your development. This position is on a full-time basis and full support, and guidance will be given. There will also be opportunities to complete additional training whilst in the role. Pay is £90-£124 per day, based on experience. This would be a great opportunity for someone that has experience supporting pupils in school or an alternative setting, but we will also be considering people without this experience.
Job Responsibility:
Provide behaviour and emotional regulation support to pupils
Work with individuals and small groups on learning and engagement
Support PBS strategies and restorative approaches
Assist the class teacher to create a safe, structured environment
Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
Requirements:
Experience with SEMH, youth work or mentoring
Confident managing challenging behaviour
Team Teach trained (advantage but not essential)
Patient, calm and able to de-escalate situations
Nice to have:
Training in Team Teach or Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)
