Job Description:

Affinity Partnerships are working with a specialist school for boys aged 5-19 with social, emotional and behavioural needs (SEMH). We are seeking resilient, confident and positive SEMH Learning Support Assistants to join this dynamic school. You will support pupils who may struggle with emotional regulation, behaviour, and engagement. Training in Team Teach or Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) is desirable but not essential – the school will support your development. This position is on a full-time basis and full support, and guidance will be given. There will also be opportunities to complete additional training whilst in the role. Pay is £90-£124 per day, based on experience. This would be a great opportunity for someone that has experience supporting pupils in school or an alternative setting, but we will also be considering people without this experience.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide behaviour and emotional regulation support to pupils
  • Work with individuals and small groups on learning and engagement
  • Support PBS strategies and restorative approaches
  • Assist the class teacher to create a safe, structured environment
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils

Requirements:

  • Experience with SEMH, youth work or mentoring
  • Confident managing challenging behaviour
  • Team Teach trained (advantage but not essential)
  • Patient, calm and able to de-escalate situations

Nice to have:

Training in Team Teach or Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)

What we offer:
  • Competitive daily wage, based on experience
  • Dedicated consultant allocated to support you
  • Support in writing CV’s and job applications
  • Fast, effective compliance service
  • £200 for any successful referral of Teachers and £100 for Teaching Assistants
