We are now seeking a Security Team Leader to join our dedicated security team. This is a pivotal leadership role, responsible for ensuring the safety, wellbeing and performance of our Security Officers while upholding the highest standards of visitor care and operational excellence. As a Security Team Leader, you will play a vital part in shaping the daily experience of both staff and visitors, driving professionalism, vigilance and exceptional service across the museum.
Job Responsibility:
Lead, motivate and support a team of Security Officers to deliver safe, effective and professional operations
Oversee daily security activity including patrols, access control, incident management and emergency response
Ensure all duties—core and ad‑hoc—are appropriately staffed through effective workforce coordination
Conduct performance monitoring, appraisals and regular feedback to maintain high standards
Support training, mentoring and development initiatives to enhance team capability and confidence
Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, museum policies and risk‑management procedures
Promote a positive, supportive working environment that prioritises staff wellbeing
Balance robust security practices with excellent visitor service, ensuring a safe and welcoming experience for all
Requirements:
Proven supervisory or management experience within security, facilities or a public‑facing environment
Strong leadership and people‑management skills with the ability to motivate and guide teams
Solid understanding of security operations, health and safety legislation and emergency procedures
Excellent communication, decision‑making and conflict‑resolution abilities
High levels of integrity, professionalism and reliability
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as required
A valid front‑line SIA and CCTV license
