The Security Systems Technician oversees the full lifecycle of CCTV and security system projects, from equipment ordering and installation to ongoing maintenance and repair. It manages inventory and tracks parts usage while ensuring all project records, documentation, and updates remain accurate and current. The position works closely with vendors, Field Teams, and Store leadership to keep timelines on track and resolve issues quickly. Responsibilities include preparing proposals and invoices, supporting software training, fulfilling video‑footage requests, and designing or updating camera layouts. The technician also troubleshoots system and hardware issues to reduce downtime and control costs.
Job Responsibility:
Manage ordering, shipping, and tracking of all CCTV and security camera equipment
Complete new camera installations within established timelines and project deadlines
Diagnose and resolve camera and system issues in collaboration with Technicians, Store Teams, and IT Support
Submit, update, and oversee work orders to ensure accurate documentation and timely completion
Review vendor proposals and invoices, verify accuracy, identify discrepancies, and route for approval
Retrieve, archive, and distribute video footage for Field Teams, Legal, insurance partners, and law enforcement
Create and update camera placement plans on store layouts and submit designs for approval
Maintain clear, consistent communication with internal Teams, Stores, Field Teams, Vendors, and Technicians
Update spreadsheets, manage incoming calls and emails, and follow up to keep tasks and projects moving
Participate in cross‑training within the Loss Prevention department to support broader team functions
Requirements:
Clear, professional communication skills when coordinating with Stores, Field Teams, Vendors, and internal departments
Ability to read and interpret floor plans, follow technical documentation, and create accurate camera placement layouts
Strong organizational skills, including managing multiple tasks, maintaining accurate records, and meeting deadlines
Nice to have:
Proficiency with CCTV systems, IP cameras, DVR/NVR platforms, and basic networking concepts such as connectivity testing and device configuration
Strong troubleshooting ability for hardware, software, and network‑related camera issues
Configure CCTV systems (analog and IP cameras), NVR/DVR platforms, and access control systems, with working knowledge of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, routers, switches, and VLANs
