PT casual position, must work minimum of 3, eight hour shifts per month. 40 Hr. Academy. 120 hrs. in-house training. Provides security services in accordance with policies, procedures, and training. Inspires confidence in patients, visitors, and team members. Complies with and enforces all safety and security rules and regulations.
Job Responsibility:
Provides security services with professionalism, fairness, and compassion
Performs routine interior and exterior patrols to ensure safety and security
Assists team members, patients and visitors
Ensures traffic control and monitors conduct of visitors
Prevents, responds to, and investigates workplace violence
Serves as a primary resource for de-escalation
Responds to service calls
Performs key responsibilities to plan, prevent, practice, and respond to emergencies
Investigates incidents and completes reports
Addresses and escalates complaints
Performs liaison rounding duties
Delivers security awareness education
Liaisons with state and local law enforcement and first responder agencies
Coordinates, briefs, and monitors law enforcement prisoner patient guards
May serve as a precept for newly hired officers
Maintains current Department training standards
Requirements:
Concealed Carry Weapon (CCW) license issued by the Department of Justice (DOJ)
A valid driver’s license issued by the Division of Motor Vehicles
Certified in Conducted Energy Weapon (Taser) use within 90 days of hire
High School Graduate
Typically requires 1 year of experience in a security, related public safety, or customer service area
Security Officer Healthcare Certification (CHSO) issued by the International Association for Healthcare Security & Safety (IAHSS) must be obtained within two years of appointment
Demonstrated ability to exercise mature judgment and sound reasoning
Demonstrated experience in quickly assessing dangerous situations
Demonstrated ability in verbal and written communications
Ability to use a computer (Microsoft Word, Excel, navigating a web page, and database entry)
Ability to work a flexible scheduling including off-shifts, weekends and holiday
Must sit, stand, walk, and drive throughout the workday
Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. occasionally
Must be able to push/pull with 35 lbs of force
Ability to defend self and/or others in case of physical confrontations
