As our Security Officer, you will monitor buildings and grounds on the property to ensure the safety and security of employees, patients, and other visitors. Every day you will monitor the property by walking and driving around the premises. Your security detail could include guarding facility and unit access points, monitoring surveillance cameras, testing new security technology, and protecting all employees/visitors against acts of violence should they arise. To be successful in this role, you’ll need the ability to remain calm and take action based on the situation, known facts, and understand the position limitations. You are also expected to respond to emergency codes in a timely manner. Previous experience in security/patrol in a healthcare setting is preferred.
Job Responsibility:
Monitor buildings and grounds on the property to ensure the safety and security of employees, patients, and other visitors
Monitor the property by walking and driving around the premises
Guard facility and unit access points
Monitor surveillance cameras
Test new security technology
Protect all employees/visitors against acts of violence
Respond to emergency codes in a timely manner
Respond to calls for assistance in a timely and prudent manner
Patrol the facility and grounds by foot or vehicle
Monitor security alarms and dispatch officers promptly to location(s) where needed
Report unsafe acts or conditions
Report HIPAA breaches if witnessed
Investigate security breaches, conducts investigations, and writes incident reports
Ensure that all activities are logged
Ensure incident reports are accurately completed, clear, concise, legible, and submitted in a timely manner
Use appropriate emergency and radio codes in dispatching security officers while knowing hospital campus to ensure that dispatches are to write location.
Requirements:
High School Graduate or equivalent and Six (6) months experience as security officer in a healthcare setting, upon hire
Six (6) months experience as security officer in a healthcare setting
One (1) year experience as a security officer
Driver's License: NE, upon hire
Basic Life Support - CPR, within 90 Days
Nice to have:
Previous experience in security/patrol in a healthcare setting is preferred.
