Job Description:

Looking for a talented Security Officer / Part Time to join our team and significantly contribute to reopen our newly remodeled resort in the American Riviera, Santa Barbara!

Job Responsibility:

  • Safeguard the resort, guest and employees’ property from vandalism, theft and any kind of crime
  • Monitor and to control the movement of all employees, visitors, and contractors leaving or entering the resort through the staff entrance
  • Handle all tasks with diplomacy, tact, appropriate discretion and efficiency
  • Record and to control all visitors’ belongings / items when entering and leaving the resort premises through the employee entrance or loading dock
  • Ensure that unauthorized personnel do not gain access to the resort floors and back of the house areas
  • Be fully conversant with every detail of the resort layout
  • Ensure to check all current events, activities, and functions at the time of duty
  • Patrol the areas of responsibility and to ensure the safety and comfort of all guests

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of security or law enforcement experience
  • luxury hotel experience preferred
  • Enjoy working in a dynamic, creative and fast-paced environment
  • Outgoing and people-oriented personality
  • Effective interpersonal skills and a great team player
  • Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language
  • Spanish a plus
  • Familiar with State and local safety regulations (i.e., OSHA)
  • CPR/First Aid certified is a plus
  • Schedule & Hours: As our resort is open 24/7, 365 days a year, we expect our Security Officers to be flexible in working mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays

  • Identifies and reports trends related to security issues. Recommends actions
  • Takes initial information for an incident report, uses proper grammar, spelling, punctuation, notes only the facts, leaving out personal opinions and submits report in a timely manner (no later than the end of assigned shift)
  • Responds promptly to all service requests relayed by supervisor, telephone, pass-on, e-mail, radio, cell phone and other correspondence in a courteous and expeditious manner
  • Responds to the collection, inventory and return of lost and found items, patient valuables, and personal property according to policy
  • Enforces all rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of CHRISTUS Health and the laws of the state in which CHRISTUS is doing business
  • Controls and enforces facility parking using patrols, violation warning citations, towing, booting and explanation of rules as applicable
  • Assists clinical/non-clinical Associates with combative patients or visitors
